101 - the new non-emergency number
Berwick-upon-Tweed Borough Council along with councils across the whole of Northumberland and Tyne and Wear have joined forces with Northumbria Police in a 14-strong partnership to help lead the way to introduce 101.
You can call 101 for advice, information and action on community safety and anti-social behaviour issues. It will make it easier for you to call to report issues; help us respond more efficiently and work closer with the police and other organisations, as well as, free up the 999 service to handle real emergencies.
It is a round-the-clock service seven days a week.
You can call to report:
• Threatening and abusive behaviour
• Drunken and rowdy groups
• Drugs related problems
• Abandoned vehicles, dumping and fly tipping
• Noisy neighbours and loud parties
• Vandalism and graffiti
• Broken street lighting
