My politics
Conservative.
Why I am involved in local politics:
Because I feel that everyone can make a difference, however small, and give to their local community.
I have always taken an interest in what was going on and got involved, from being on committees at Playgroups, to doing Youth Work, and becoming a School Governor.
Local issues important to me:
Youth Issues
Health
Special Needs
Regeneration and enabling the best opportunities for the people of the Borough.
Improvements which I wish to bring about in this Council and the services it provides:
More housing choice.
Better Youth provision.
Better work prospects for all, especially the young, who should be encouraged to stay here.
What I would like to achieve as a Councillor:
All of the above!
I enjoy the work, and get a lot out of it.
Which committees I serve on, and why:
Planning.
Corporate Services and Regeneration.
Youth Participation Steering Group.
Spittal Point Working Group.
Lifelong Learning Sector Board.
Large Scale Voluntary Transfer Working Group.
Culture and Arts Working Group.
ICT Working Group.
Outside interests/hobbies:
Music, Golf (badly), walking, studying for a degree with the Open University, reading, following Berwick Rangers.
