Licence - acupuncturist

The Local Government (Miscellaneous Provisions) Act 1982 requires that all persons that carry out acupuncture be registered with the local authority. Officers will visit the premises to ensure they comply with the requirements of both the Act and any local Bylaws.

The Local Government (Miscellaneous Provisions) Act 1982 requires that all persons that carry out accupunture be registered with the local authority.

Anyone within the business carrying out these operations must be registered. If you have been registered elsewhere you will still need to register with the authority you currently work in. Only those operating under the supervision of a registered medical practitioner are exempt.

This authority has adopted bylaws covering this service.These bylaws cover the various hygiene issues asscociated with skin piercing.

Any application forms relating to the service

Application forms are available from the Environmental health and Enforcement Unit 01289 301827 This is a one off registration (does not need to be repeated every year), and a fee is required..

Officers will visit the premises to ensure they comply with the requirements of both the Act and any local Bylaws.

Cost or scale of charges for the service

Individual personal licences are currently £60.20 and premises licences are also £60.20
