Licence - caravan site
The local authority processes applications for licences for caravan sites or mobile home parks and inspects sites to ensure that all required legislation and good practice is adhered to.
Caravan sites must be licensed by the local authority. There are some exceptions for individual vans and certain exempt organisations e.g. The Caravan Club.
The licence covers both static and touring vans and also those sites which are partially or completely residential. Before a licence can be issued, the site must have planning permission. Details of the permission are required when applying for the licence.
Once a proper application has been received, the licence must be issued. Conditions will be attached to the licence covering the number and type(s) of caravans, the period of time the site is open in the year and other matters relating to density and fire safety.
Licences are issued on a one off basis but must be reviewed and reapplied for if major changes occur e.g. change of ownership, change in number of vans etc
There is no charge charge for this licence.
