Grazing

Open land owned by the local authority which may be used by the public for grazing animals. The precise use of the land (e.g. for horses, cattle etc.) may differ according to location and the local authority may issue grazing permits to limit the number of animals on the land.

The Council owns one site within the Borough which it lets for animal grazing (cattle, sheep, horses).  Invitations to tender are usually advertised in the local press in March following which the land is offered to the successful tenderer on a 364-day licence agreement, but other arrangements may be possible.
