Health and safety at work - advice and training

The local authority is responsible for carrying out the routine inspection of commercial premises to ensure health and safety practices at work and may also provide basic health and safety training courses.

  Currently the local authority does not provide any specific health and safety training courses. However, individual businesses seeking advice about health and safety matters are welcome to contact the council and details of training providers can be passed on if required.

Accidents Cost You Money

Berwick-upon-Tweed Borough Council have joined forces with the Health & Safety Executive to improve Health and Safety Awareness & Compliance.

The Berwick Borough ‘Safer Working Community’ initiative will be held on Thursday 24th January 2008, programme includes free workshops and information sessions, risk assessment and feedback. The overall aim is to provide sustainable improvements to Health & Safety throughout the Borough.
