Summary

Berwick-upon-Tweed Borough Council are required to nominate four representatives onto the Shadow Board of Berwick Borough Housing. Members previously nominated Cllr D Stewart, A Bowlas, D Buckle and K Thorburn. Members now have the opportunity to revisit these nominations.

2

Recommendations

2.1

Either:

Maintain one or more of the nominated persons as listed above

Or

Nominate one or more replacement representatives

3

Report

3.1

The Shadow Board of Berwick Borough Housing has 12 members, comprising four tenants, four Council nominees and four independents (neither tenants nor Council nominees). The Four Council nominees are persons nominated by the elected members of Berwick-upon-Tweed Borough Council. These nominees do not themselves have to be elected members. Elected members will be required to revisit nominations on an annual basis.

3.2

All four of the nominated representatives have served the Shadow Board well since it has been in existence. Attendance has not been an issue, whilst contributions have been both robust and appropriate. All four nominees have indicated their willingness to continue serving the Shadow Board of Berwick Borough Housing for a further 12 months.

3.3

The Shadow Board is reaching an important stage as the Council moves towards balloting tenants in the forthcoming months, and stability is of great importance at this time.
