To agree the draft accounts for 2006/07 subject to audit.

Report
3.1
The deadline for publishing draft accounts for the financial year 2006/07 is the end of June for 2007. It is also necessary to finalise the accounts by the end of September 2007.
3.2
The draft outturn has not been reported in any detail to a Committee prior to presentation to Council. This is the first opportunity that Members will have to review the content of the Council’s annual financial accounts. The accounts will contain full disclosures and will hopefully be self explanatory.
3.3
A set of draft accounts for the financial year 2006/07 and supporting notes will be distributed prior to the Council Meeting because the accounts will still be under review at the time of report distribution.
3.4
Auditors will come on site for five weeks from the end of July and through all of August and our intention is to present final accounts by the end of September.
