DECISION: To approve as a correct record the Minutes of the Housing Stock Options Working Group held on 27th July 2004

203 5. HOUSING INVESTMENT PROGRAMME 2004/05 – PROGRESS ON SCHEMES AND BUDGETARY CONTROL TO 30TH JUNE 2004

DECISIONS: (i) To note the report and progress with delivery of the Housing Investment Programme 2004/05, and (ii) To express the Committee’s disappointment at the level of grant.

DECISION: To note the report.

205 7. TENANTS’ GUIDE TO HOUSING REPAIRS 5

DECISIONS: (i) To approve the introduction of a Tenants’ Guide to Housing Repairs; and

(ii) To note the policy regarding the Council’s repairing obligations once a tenant applies to purchase their council property under the Right to Buy scheme.

DECISION: To note the content of the report.

207 9.DISABILITY DISCRIMINATION ACT 1996 (DDA) – PUBLIC CONVENIENCES 7

DECISIONS: (i) To agree the “Access Strategy and DDA Policy” statement;

(ii) To agree the actions as set out in Schedule 2 at a commitment of £42,750.00; and

(iii) To agree the approach as set out in Schedule 2 for the assets shown under “Policy Decision Required”, but also to discuss with Horncliffe Parish Council the future of Horncliffe public convenience.

DECISIONS: (i) To agree to continue to pursue the need to complete the dualling of the A1 Trunk Road on both sides of the Border; and

(ii) To continue to press both the Highways Agency and GONE for clarification on the status of the dualling scheme between West Mains and Bridge Mill.

209 11. LOCAL TRANSPORT PLAN 10

DECISION: To invite Members to submit schemes, which meet the criteria, for inclusion in the 5 Year Programme which will be submitted to Northumberland County Council later this year.

210 12. FUTURE OPERATION OF CAR PARKING REVIEW WORKING GROUP 12

DECISION: That the Car Parking Review Working Group be dissolved and its functions accepted by the Policy (Environment) Committee.

211 13. FUTURE USAGE OF THE PARADE CAR PARK, BERWICK-UPON-TWEED 12

DECISION: To reject the recommendation of the Car Parking Review Working Group to introduce long term parking to one half of the Parade car park.

DECISION: To note the report.
