Environmental Services Contracts

Applications are invited from suitably experienced contractors for selection to tender under the EC ‘Restricted’ tendering procedure for the provision of the Council’s refuse collection, street cleansing, recycling and public conveniences cleaning services. The street cleansing and public convenience cleaning services are currently provided by individual external contractors with the refuse collection, including kerbside recycling and bring site servicing, carried out in-house. The contract is intended to commence in April 2005 for a period of not less than 5 years, with an option to extend for a further two years. Contractors seeking inclusion on the short list from which tenders are invited are required to complete a pre-tender questionnaire and submit the appropriate supporting information to be received at the address below not later than noon on 20th December 2004.

Tenderers will be selected on the basis of a range of criteria which shall include quality performance and environmental consideration and by reference to the form for the Future’s Local Authority Partnership Network’s Sustainable Procurement Tool. It is anticipated that invitations to tender will be issued on or about 14th January 2005. Tenders will be invited in respect of one or any combination of the services listed above.

A Contract Notice to be published in the Official Journal of the European Communities was dispatched on 12th November 2004.
