The Calendar of Meetings for Berwick-upon-Tweed Borough Council for the 2008/09 municipal year is set out below:

• Licensing and Standards Committees are arranged on an ad-hoc basis; and
• Details of meeting venues and any alterations to meeting arrangements will be published on the Council website (www.berwick-upon-tweed.gov.uk) and in monthly calendars which are posted on noticeboards located around Berwick-upon-Tweed and in rural parishes]  

Agendas and Minutes

Copies of Council Summons, Committee agendas, specific reports and minutes of all Meetings can be obtained by telephoning Legal and Democratic Services Unit (01289) 301890. Copies can also be downloaded from the Council’s website (via the link to ‘Meetings, Agendas and Minutes’ on the homepage)

All meetings are open to the public except on those occasions when confidential business is to be considered.

Questions by Members of the Public at Meetings

Members of the public can ask questions concerning Council business at a meeting of Policy Committee or Town Committee or at an Ordinary Meeting of the Council.

Questions should:

• Be submitted to the Chief Executive by email or in writing no later than mid-day 3 days before the date of the meeting
• State the name and address of the person submitting the question
• Name the Member of the Council to whom the question should be put
