| Licence - private hire vehicle (minicab)
A private hire vehicle, also know as a mini-cab (is NOT a taxi, despite being commonly regarded as one), is a vehicle which is licensed to accept only pre-booked fares (and cannot be hailed in the street or taken from a taxi rank). A private hire vehicle can only be driven by a licensed private hire vehicle driver.
If you wish to provide a private hire vehicle for hire or reward you are required to obtain the necessary licence. An application form is available below.
