Release date: 04.03.08
Ref: BBC/PR/L&D/09/08

If you are interested in standing as a candidate in the Northumberland Council election and would like more information then why not come along to a briefing session next week.

At the session, which will take place at the William Elder Building, Castlegate, Berwick-upon-Tweed at 6pm on Wednesday, 12 March, information about the electoral process and nomination packs will be available. Any information in the pack will be about the electoral divisions within the current Borough Council area not the whole of the new council.

Nomination packs for both the elections to the Northumberland Council and Berwick-upon-Tweed Town Council will also be available from the election office, Berwick-upon-Tweed Borough Council, Berwick-upon-Tweed from Thursday, 13 March or by calling 01289 301720 or e-mailing jat@berwick-upon-tweed.gov.uk

Anyone wishing to stand in other parts of Northumberland should contact the elections office in the district area in which they wish to be a candidate.
