Incident at Golden Square to be discussed at BBCDRP Meeting

BBCDRP Executive is to discuss the incident at Golden Square at their meeting on 15 August.

A number of police officers were injured in Golden Square, when they were attacked on Saturday night (04.08.07).

The partnership will discuss how they can take preventative measures and minimise the likelihood of such an incident occurring in the future.

Chair of the BBCDRP Jane Pannell said:
“We are disappointed that an incident of this kind happened in Berwick. We are concerned for the injured police and the Partnership will be sending best wishes to them. We will also be recognising those members of the public who came to the aid of the officers and thanking them.”

Members of the Partnership at the meeting include Gerald Connor, Community Safety Officer; David Wilson, Senior Licensing Officer; and Inspector Bob Charlton, Berwick Community Inspector.

Members of the public are welcome to attend the meeting at 2pm at the Council Offices, Wallace Green, Berwick-upon-Tweed.
