Issued on behalf of Berwick Borough Local Strategic Partnership

Ross Weddle, Berwick Borough’s Local Strategic Partnership Manager, is moving onto his green dream job.

Ross, who has been manager of the Local Strategic Partnership for four years, is looking forward to the challenge of developing a new project - Community Renewable Energy (CoRE); the idea for which came out of a partnership meeting.

“I’ve enjoyed working for the Local Strategic Partnership. Working with a number of different Chairs and committee members we have successfully produced a Community Strategy and Action Plan; most of the Action Plan has also been achieved, greatly benefiting the local community.

“Although I am sad to leave the organisation I am looking forward to a new challenge. CoRE is a new business which will bring lower energy bills, cleaner fuel and income for local communities. For me CoRE grew out of a Rural Renewables Conference the Local Strategic Partnership held in Etal Village Hall in 2004. The conference highlighted two things. The interest voluntary and community groups have in renewables and their lack of time, money and expertise. CoRE will hopefully plug that gap,” said Ross.
