Planning Committee to consider wind farm application for Wandylaw

Release date: 16.10.07
Ref: BBC/PR/R&D/29/07

A special meeting of the Berwick-upon-Tweed Borough Council’s Planning Committee has been arranged to consider the application for a wind farm at Wandylaw. The meeting will take place at 6pm on Tuesday, 23 October in the dining hall at Berwick Community High School.

Those attending the meeting are asked to park in the large car park beside Tweedmouth Middle School, as the spaces by the High School entrance will be reserved for the disabled.

In light of the level of public interest in the application, the Borough Council has used its discretion within the public speaking policy to alter the arrangements to allow increased levels of public participation.

All those who have previously requested to address the Committee have now been contacted, inviting them to confirm their intention to speak at the meeting. An increased time provision of 10 minutes has been allocated to each category of public speaker, ie: objectors; parish and ward councillors; supporters and the applicant.

Should more than one person wish to speak in any category, the time available will be divided evenly between those wishing to address the Committee. It is hoped that this will encourage speakers to liaise with each other to ensure all points are covered in the time available.

Please note that no new public speaking requests can now be accepted.
