Three windfarm applications are to be considered by the Planning Committee on Thursday, 27 March. The meeting will take place at the Maltings, Berwick and will begin at 10am.
The applications to be considered in the following order are:
• Moorsyde (seven turbines)
• Barmoor (six turbines)
• Toft Hill (seven turbines).
The following arrangements have been put in place for public speaking at the meeting. These are different from the usual arrangements because there is likely to be considerable public interest in these applications.
Anyone wishing to speak at the meeting must notify the Senior Democratic Services Officer Sue Finch on 01289 301721 or e-mail svf@berwick-upon-tweed.gov.uk by no later than 12 noon on Tuesday, 25 March.
The time available to each group (supporters, protestors, etc) is extended to 10 minutes, and the number of speakers is not limited to two.
In the event that there is a large number of requests to speak for or against the development, the procedure provides for the individuals to be asked to agree among themselves who should represent them at the committee meeting.
A copy of the reports will be on the Council’s website www.berwick-upon-tweed.gov.uk and copies will also be available at the Council offices.
