Thursday, 1 May is the day the voters of the Borough elect the new councillors who will represent them in the new single Northumberland council.

There are six seats which will be up for election and all the wards are contested;
Bamburgh, Norham and Islandshires, Berwick North, Berwick East, Berwick West with Ord and Wooler.

In the Berwick town area there will be a combined election as local voters will also be electing councillors across seven parish wards for the new Berwick Town Council. The wards are Magdalene, Castle, Grove, St Boisil, Stadium, Upper Spittal and Lower Spittal.

Only three wards are contested:
• Lower Spittal (based on part of the Borough Council Spittal ward which lies to the east of the main railway line)
• Magdalene (based on the Borough Council Edward ward)
• Castle (based on the Borough Council Elizabeth ward).

In the other Town Council wards the candidates will become councillors on 1 May.
