Berwick will taste life from across Europe when the annual continental market comes to town Friday, 4 to Sunday, 6 July.

On Friday, 4 and Sunday, 6 July Marygate in Berwick town centre will be transformed into a bustling continental market place - and Bridge Street joins in the fun on Saturday, 5 July when the market moves for the day.

Market traders from France, Belgium, Italy, Spain, Holland and Poland wearing traditional costumes will be selling high quality produce including Brittany biscuits, olives, Italian nougat, pungent cheeses, saucissions, Tatifletter from the Alps, charcuterue, fresh breads, croissants and much much more - and if you have a sweet tooth look out for the freshly cooked crepes!

As well as fine edible goods there will also be a wide range of products for sale including hand bags and leather items, Marseille soaps, lavender, children’s toys and pachmina.

Town Centres Manager Neil Brown said:
“The market really has something for everyone and it is a colourful spectacle as the stalls will be decorated to represent the areas of the country they have come from - the market really provides a true flavour of the continent. Don’t miss out put the date in your diary now and come down over the weekend.”
