If you are a working artist or crafter and would like to get together with others sharing similar interests, then don’t miss out on a meeting of a new forum which could help you extend your circle and learn about opportunities for people working in the arts.
The Cross Border Open Forum and Networking Meeting for the Artist and Craft Community will take place on Tuesday, 4 December at the Maltings, Berwick-upon-Tweed between 10.15am and 2.30pm.
The free event will be hosted by Berwick-upon-Tweed Borough Council and Aurora (Network of Northumbrian Artists and Craftspeople) and there will be a presentation by Helen Voce from the Gracefield Arts Centre, Dumfries and Galloway about the successful Spring Fling open studios initiative - which brings tourists and buyers into the region every year, raising awareness of artists and their practice.
Arts and Culture Development Officer Louise Butler said:
“This event will be ideal opportunity for all artists and craftspeople, on both sides of the Border, to meet and discuss opportunities to develop further and share ideas. We’re delighted that local artists and groups will be coming along to talk about their experiences of opening up their studios and marketing their work.”
