Enforcement Issues

Users of Pay and Display Car Parks operated by Berwick-upon-Tweed Borough Council are subject to the conditions contained in the current Parking Order, which is available for inspection at the Council offices.

Common reasons for enforcement include:

- vehicles not parked wholly within a marked bay
- Failure to display a valid ticket and/or clock
- Exceeding the time limit
- Parked in a Disabled Bay without the relevant permit

By entering a car park, the user accepts all of the conditions of use and an Excess Charge will be issued for all failures to comply. This charge is currently £60.00 and may be reduced to £30.00 if paid within 14 days of issue.

The Council has an appeals procedure to review written applications regarding the issue of an EPC – forms and full details from Council Offices.

Personal visitors may be seen by an officer, if available, but individual circumstances will not be discussed as this may prejudice the appeals procedure.

The Police and Traffic Wardens are responsible for all on-street enforcement and have different procedures.

Other Car Parks
