Tree Preservation Orders
The Authority protects trees for the enjoyment of the public both by the imposition and administration of Tree Preservation Orders and in Conservation Areas.
Tree Preservation Orders require that the consent of the Authority be obtained for any tree work to a Protected Tree, with certain exceptions, notably where a tree or trees are dead, dying or dangerous. All trees in Conservation Areas are also protected in a similar way.
If you are aware of trees in danger of being destroyed, which you feel are worth protecting, you can ask the Authority to consider making an Order. Copies of all existing orders can be inspected at the Planning Unit. For more information contact the planning unit
