Forest and Woodland Management

The Council can offer advice and information on trees, woodland and tree-related issues to local organisations and the public. Where woodland/forests are on council owned land the local authority has a responsibility to maintain them in a way which is beneficial to the local environment and ensures public safety.

These areas, and others, are for recreational use and no commercial endeavours. Some contain identified walks along footpaths, picnic areas, car parks and other amenities. The woodlands provide a pleasant environment in which to enjoy nature and improve healthy lifestyles.

Fly Tipping

Instances of fly-tipping or other anti-social behaviour are dealt with by the Council. If you have a question about the control of these activities or a problem please contact the the Council Offices- Telephone (01289) 330044 and ask for the Environmental Maintenance unit, e-mail to djf@berwick-upon-tweed.gov.uk or use our on-line Request Form.

Criminal Activity/Damage

Criminal activity/damage should be brought to the attention of Northumbria Police by phoning Northumberland 01661 872555 or 999 in the case of emergency. You may also report on line by using this link http://www.online.police.uk/english/default.asp
